Raymond DeBono is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon currently in part time private practice in Malta and Honorary Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the University Hospital of North Durham, South Tyneside District Hospital, the City Hospitals Sunderland and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead and Senior Lecturer at Durham University. He qualified in Medicine in 1990 and after general surgical training started his Plastic Surgery training in London (Mount Vernon Hospital, Middlesex and St Andrew’s Centre for Plastic Surgery, Billericay), Preston (Royal Preston Hospital), and Durham (Shotley Bridge Hospital).
He then studied for a Higher Degree in Plastic Surgery by Research at the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Durham. His thesis was in the field of skin wound healing biology with special reference to the contribution of the skin appendages to wound healing, scarring and scarless healing. Mr DeBono then progressed to higher surgical training in Plastic Surgery at two well renowned Plastic Surgery Units in Scotland: Ninewells Hospital and Medical School in Dundee and the internationally well known Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow. During these years he developed a major interest in Aesthetic/Cosmetic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery including Microsurgery. He complemented his training with further experience in microsurgery reconstructive techniques at the Department of Plastic Surgery, MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas, Houston, Texas, USA. This was supported by a Traveling Fellowship awarded by the British Association of Plastic Surgeons.
He has also furthered his Cosmetic Surgery training at the MD Aesthetic Surgery Centre / St Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Texas Medical Centre, Texas, USA. Mr Debono also furthered his trainng with a fellowship in cosmetic surgery at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Centre in Dallas and at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute concentrating on facelift surgery, rhinoplasty and body contouring. Mr DeBono is subspecialized in: facial rejuvenation (browlift, facelift, necklift), cosmetic breast surgery and body contouring, skin cancer treatment, breast reconstruction, hand surgery and laser treatments. His research interests include: Skin wound healing biology including the contribution of skin appendages to wound healing and stem cells and their potential role in scar less healing. Dr Dorothy Scicluna

Dorothy Scicluna is a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist. She studied French and Psychology at Bachelor Degree level at the University of Malta (1994) then proceeded with a specialization in Clinical Psychology at the University of Padova, Italy (2000) with a special focus on the cultural aspect of eating disorders and obesity. In Malta she furthered her studies by taking up Gestalt Psychotherapy (2005). She has created local awareness about eating disorders and obesity and designed and developed several therapeutic programmes for anorexia nervosa and childhood obesity using an integrative approach. The integration of the behavioural and the humanistic view of eating disorders is a central theme during her lecturing material at the University of Malta. She holds a particular interest in wellness and runs several lifestyle modification group and individual programmes. Her research focuses on the cultural aspect of eating disorders, the understanding and frequency rates of binge-eating disorder in Malta, childhood obesity and on the personality of the anorexia nervosa sufferer in view of better therapy outcome. Finally she believes that people need to tell their tales and it is through the narration of these tales that healing is achieved – this is the work of psychotherapy.

Ms Elizabeth Hanley Lee

Ms Lee provides a voluntary breast awareness service in a private and confidential environment at St Philips Hospital. Her role involves supporting ladies who may have any concern about their breast. She is a member of the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation

Stephanie Borg is a certified beauty therapist with a UK diploma (CIBTAC) in massage, covering Swedish massage, Aromatherapy, Deep Tissue Massage, Acupressure, Reflexology and Therapeutic massage. She holds certificates in Reiki (level 1 & 2), Indian Head Massage, Seated Head and Shoulder Massage, Cupping Massage and Hopi Ear Candle. Stephanie was employed as a holistic therapist in four- and five-star hotels, and worked in upmarket beauty culture centres around the island.
Prior to specializing in health therapy, Stephanie also obtained a diploma in nursing from the University of Malta in 2003, working in various wards in both public and private hospitals.
Stephanie was educated at St Joseph School in Blata l-Bajda. Her interests include volleyball, cycling and art. She has an outgoing personality and easily integrates with others.
